Tamarillo and Apple Crumble

Tamarillo and Apple Crumble

Serves: 6 to 8

Preparation: 15 minutes

Cooking: 30 minutes

 

Ingredients

4 red tamarillo, peeled and halved (collect the juice and fruit in a bowl)
6 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced

 

Crumble Ingredients

1 handful walnuts, roughly chopped
25g butter, room temperature
3/4 cup oats
3/4 plain flour
3 Tablespoons soft dark brown sugar

 

Method

Heat oven to 180°C

In an oven dish place the sliced apple, top with tamarillo halves and then drizzle the tamarillo juice

Combine crumble ingredients (less walnuts), with your hands to rub through the butter, when crumble is formed, add walnuts and mix through. Spread crumble evenly on the prepared fruit 

Bake for 30 minutes or until the fruit is bubbling and the crumble is golden. Keep an eye on the crumble so it doesn't burn

Remove from heat and serve with a dollop of Greek yoghurt
